New Volkswagen Touareg SUV with V8 TDI (Diesel engine) passes 3 tough emission tests with a consistent record
This recent achievement of the Volkswagen Touareg SUV is worth bragging about considering the past “Dieselgate” controversy that almost tarnished the name of the German automaker.
This latest Volkswagen Touareg SUV model with V8 TDI actually undertook 3 Real Driving Emission analysis runs by an independent specialist, Emissions Analytics in 3 German city areas during the tests. One of the tests reportedly took place in a flat landscape, while the other tests were conducted in areas with different altitudes in Germany. Surprisingly, in all of these three emission tests, this SUV with diesel engine scored amazing records below “Euro 6 NOx” limit for each area it was tested in.

Volkswagen claims that this new Touareg SUV achieved these outstanding results because of features like its SCR catalytic converter and a multi-stage exhaust gas treatment which is fitted with a big NOx storage unit. The SCR catalytic converter actually converts the NOx into nitrogen and pure, harmless steam by using the conventional AdBlue (synthetic urea solution).
