2024 Volvo XC100 Recharge set to launch Volvo into the world of crossover coupes
Fresh reports claim that the popular Swedish luxury brand, Volvo, will soon launch the 2024 XC100 Recharge all-electric Crossover Coupe. Yes, this could be the automaker’s flagship electric crossover for 2024. The renowned auto blog site, Motor Trend spilled the details of this coming Volvo model but did not specifically cite anyone from the auto company as its source for the info by the way.
After the XC90, Volvo reportedly plans to unveil a 2024 XC100 Recharge all-electric Crossover Coupe very soon
According to the reports published by Motor Trend, the XC100 Recharge Crossover Coupe will be based on Volvo’s next-generation XC90, meaning we should expect a version of the Crossover with a “chopped” roof. It the Swedish automaker follows the current trends seen in SUVs of its European competitors, then we expect it to feature a number of design similarities with the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe and the BMW X6 model. Based on this information, both the Volvo XC90 and the anticipated Volvo XC100 Recharge will be built on the automaker’s upcoming “SPA2” architecture which is well-designed to conveniently support both fully-electric vehicles and gasoline-powered vehicles.
It was further stated in the reports that luxury will be the main focus in every aspect of this coming XC100 crossover coupe. This includes the possible offering of a 4-seat option while forgoing the 3rd row. If this eventually happens to be the case, then we would expect that the 2nd row will be structured in the usual executive style while featuring every other detail that gives a luxury “feel”.
The reports also revealed more details of this coming XC100 crossover coupe such as the powertrain setup of a dual-motor - one motor for the rear and the other for the front. The report also mentioned that a “skateboard-like” architecture will house the vehicle’s batteries between its axles. MT was also confident in predicting a possible $85,000 starting price tag for this coming XC100 model and anticipates its reveal in 2023.
